South Texas Sliders Invitational

June 13-16th – Tournament Rules

Rules:       All pool play and Championship and Consolation play is 1 hr. 50 minute time limit.

The 16U and 15U Championship games in the Championship bracket are 2 hours.

Coach or rep of the winning and losing team must text me the score at 210-316-7327

Home team for 2 of the 3 games in pool play is predetermined. Home team is in bold. If no team is in bold then it is a flip.

Teams provide 2 baseballs at the beginning of each game. Preferably Diamond NFHS or equivalent. Teams will alternate throwing in on an as needed basis.

High School Federation Rules (USING ONLY BBCOR OR WOOD BATS) with minor exceptions:

a.    Extra Hitters (EH) and DH are allowed(can hit as many as you want but the lineup must maintain that number throughout the game

b.    MOUND VISITS – MLB RULE (1 free visit per pitcher each inning)

c.     Courtesy runner for the pitcher and catcher are allowed but not mandatory. Must be a bench player or last out if batting your whole lineup. (If you have used up your bench, you cannot use a player in the game to be a courtesy runner unless you are batting your whole roster at the outset of the game.)

d.    Run Rule (for all games):

i.   10 after 4 ii.    8 after 5

e.    Extra innings will be played unless time limit is up in pool play. Games tied in pool play will count as ½ win and ½ loss f.     Bracket play games must be played to a winner. After time has expired and the game is tied in bracket play, we will

move to modified California rules of last 3 batters occupy the bases and 1 out.

Format:     Two days of pool play competition followed by two days of championship/consolation elimination play.

Both brackets of both age groups will be single elimination with a 5th game guaranteed for those that lose the first elimination game. Water will be provided in dugouts either via water coolers or fountains. Teams supply their own cups. Home team keeps the official

scorebook.

Seeding Instructions: At the conclusion of all pool play games on Friday the Championship and Consolation play schedules for both age groups will be posted at www.pasttimebaseball.com Please no phone calls as that information will not be given over the phone and I will have it up roughly 30-45 minutes after the last game. If we have a possibility of inclement weather then I may call for a meeting on Friday night but at this time have no plans for that.
