Nick Alvarado


  • Nick Alvarado is a graduate of Central Catholic High School where he was a two (2) time All-State Catcher.
  • After high school, Coach Alvarado attended Laredo Junior College for two years where he was a catcher for the Laredo Palominos. During his sophomore season, he was selected to the All- Conference team as a catcher.
  • After two years he transferred to Tarleton State University. At Tarleton State, he played for the Texans as a catcher earning All-Conference and second team Academic All-American honors.
  • Shortly after pursuing a playing career, he continued his education at The University of Texas at San Antonio earning a degree in Kinesiology.
  • He is currently working toward completing his MEd in Education. Upon graduating from UTSA, he began teaching and coaching at Harlandale High School, as an assistant baseball coach.
  • Coach Alvarado transferred to Stevens High School, where he was an assistant baseball coach for 4 years.
  • In 2010, (when Brennan High School opened) he joined the coaching staff as the Head baseball coach where he has led his team to 2 District Championship titles.
  • As the head coach at Brennan, the Bears have made playoff appearances three of the last four years. Coach Nick has also been fortunate to scout for the Colorado Rockies and the Anaheim Angels.
  • He has over 20 years of experience coaching from High School to Professional level and is a Certified Professional Instructor in Hitting, Pitching and Catching.
